I count about 13 quakes over 2 - maybe not all of them direct aftershocks but they are after the 5.1

In a news report on KFWB (http://www.kfwb.com/news/local/l103103.html) it says:

(KFWB) 10.31.01, 9:05a -- Scientists today said the 5.1-magnitude
earthquake centered in the high desert late Tuesday was likely not a
precursor to a larger quake.

Lucy Jones, Scientist in Charge for Southern California at the U.S.
Geological Survey, said the quake was probably on the active San
Jacinto fault about nine miles east of the city of Anza -- 40 miles (21 stated on map)
south of Palm Springs.

Twenty years ago, the same fault had produced a 5.5 -magnitude
quake, Jones said.

Tuesday's temblor struck at 11:56pm. It was felt in the Los Angeles
area -- about 100 miles away -- and south in Orange County and
San Diego.

There are no reports of serious damage or any injuries.
