Length of day changes? You need an atomic clock for that, not a shadow on the wall. Shan's method has a lot of problems. I really don't think he can measure LOD changes and I seriously doubt the earth's inclination changes the way he thinks. He certainly can't measure anything in the way of vibrations with a once per day marking. There are a number of more likely causes. Humidity effects on the shadow pole, anything which would move the pole, etc. etc. The quakes he is associating are typically small ones in active areas. I'll do the probabilities if Lowell is busy. Is there a list of past predictions?
