UPDATE December 27, 2013

It appears that one or two things happened with this expected earthquake. I still haven't seen anything that looks like what was expected. And recent EM Signal activity has slowed to a trickle.

FIRST - The original EM Signal looks like it may have been amplified by the Mt. Etna volcano activity. Otherwise the expected earthquake might have been in the 7.3 and higher range. And so it is possible that even that low recent earthquake activity around 139 E was responsible for the signal. However that seems unlikely to me. The highest magnitude earthquake around that area has been something like 5.5. And that seems too low for one of my signals.

Second - A powerful earthquake occurs within 5 days of a strong EM Signal only about 50% of the time. Then the sun and moon probably move to positions where their gravitational pulls are at the wrong angle to trigger the earthquake. So its fault zone continues to build stress until the sun and moon are again in the right angle for an earthquake.

There is a third possible reason. I don’t know how likely it is.

The constant movement of the tectonic plates relative to one another can cause strain to temporarily build in a fault zone and cause it to start generating EM Signals. However, then the plates shift further or there is an earthquake somewhere and that strain in the fault zone where the EM Signals have their origin disappears. And there is never any earthquake.

In spite of all of that, my warnings and advisories posted on this board for just the past half year show that quite often there is a powerful and usually earthquake within 5 days of the time that a strong EM Signal is detected. So in spite of that 5 day Time Window not being absolute for all powerful earthquakes, it is still worth the effort to watch for one for a week after such a signal is detected.

For example, a very strong EM Signal was detected at the following time back in January of 2011.

2010/01/11 02:35:00 UTC

The Haiti earthquake occurred the following day with a reported cost of a quarter of a million lives.

2010/01/12 21:53:10 18.45N 72.44W 10 7.0 Haiti Region

And 7.0 isn’t even that strong!

These are personal opinions.
