I'm not surprised. I've had a lot of problems with email lately. Finally tracked it down to Avast. It was blocking Outlook Express with a timeout error. Don't know why.

Switched to Avira and the problem went away.

I can't imagine how that would matter unless those predictions just happened to hit dips in the curve.
