Update should be instant, it's likely your browser using a cached paged.

I run into that too. In firefox, press shift while clicking the reload button (or F5) and that forces a fresh reload.

But yeah, the global seismograph network got built, to detect clandestine nuclear testing. Detecting earthquakes was just noise in the system.
