Look at the program I sent. It will explain it.

Basically, see how many hits Amit gets, then do 100,000 or so random selections of the same number of dates and see how many hits each one gets.

Put those numbers into an array and see what kind of curve results. Typically there will be more to the left than the right of the peak.
