Well, the left half is all mountains and forests, therefore fire.

The right half is all plains and windy and has tornadoes.

There's a thin strip between the two where everybody lives, and you get a little of both!

Every place has its pro's and con's. It's a matter of opinion for each person as to what is in each of those lists. A lot of it had to do with what each person can put up with.
