Chris needs one of his posts as writing example

Kind of depressing: I need writing examples to show a local (island) free weekly newspaper that I can write things that would be of interest to the residents of this island (being an island, probably climate change and sea level rise, seeing as the town beach sand and dunes were placed onto the road that is the only connection between 2 parts of the island by superstorm Sandy).

This newspaper thing is related to a proposal I am writing (draft due today!) on Ross Sea, related to paleo-climate. National Science Foundation proposals include "Broader Impacts", which can be training students and "outreach" to the public.

I checked some of my March 2011 Tohoku quake posts, 2004 Sumatra quake posts, posts just before Katrina from offshore of the west coast during a research cruise, and none of these were very good for this purpose. I know I've posted on climate change, so will have to see if I can find anything good.

So, disappointed that my posts were not as interesting or well-written as I thought. Maybe OK for the purposes of Earthwaves?

I saw posts from Beth way back (2004 or 2005): I forgot that she had been posting that long (or longer?).

Chris
