Hi everyone, It's an exciting Saturday night in snowy Colorado and a large swarm in the Canary Islands. I have long been aware of La Palma and the potential for it to cause a nightmarish tsunami swamping mostly everyone in the lower elevations, leaving just a few of us who never thought we'd have beach front property at these elevations. Instead of La Palma, I found that its neighbor, El Hierro, was the culprit. In fact, from what I read, there is and has been a rapidly-increasing, seismic swarm going on for over a month, couple with harmonic tremors, and reports of growing magma intrusion. Supposedly, it erupted dramatically in 1793, but in my quick look, I got the feeling that this is still not completely accepted by all in the scientific community. Whatever. I'm just sharing with you all and maybe someon else can take it from here. It's certainly better than television on a Saturday night! Link follows. Beth
