Apparently there has been an increase in the release of sea floor methane deposits off Santa Monica, prompting 911 calls to the LA Fire Department.

Don't see any quakes in the area lately (and may I say AGAIN how very much I loathe the new USGS Quake Page!!!!), but increased gas release does suggest a pressure change of some sort.
