Interesting. Some of the other articles at that site are bizarre junk like finding manufactured items in 300 million year old coal and a Bosnia massacre being a hoax. But the article seems reasonable. I went to Google Earth and you can see a crater field west of Naples, and Vesuvius about the same distance east of Naples. Naples is not a small city. Wikipedia says between 3 adn 3.7 million with a metro area between 4.1 and 4.9 million. Think about what a volcanic eruption, even a small one, in the USA Bay area would do to the Bay area (San Francisco-Oakland).
