Hi Canie and all,

After I get that new bulletin board fully operational I am planning to send some of those earthquake researchers plus every other earthquake forecasting group around the world that I know about an E-mail proposing to them that most of them are just chasing their tails around in a circle. They largely don’t know how to interpret that data they are collecting, haven’t a clue regarding what data they should actually be collecting, and don’t even know in what direction they need to be moving.

A copy of that E-mail will probably be posted here if it does get circulated.

The latest delay with getting that bulletin board running involves attempts to determine how to work with the code in the newer version of the WWWBoard Perl language computer program. If you are an experienced Perl language professional the code is probably easy to work with. But for intermediate level programmers it is like trying to decipher hieroglyphics!

In any case, I finally managed to determine which variables contain the information sent to the program from the data entry screen. I had been able to do that a while ago with the original version of the program. But the new version works in a somewhat different manner. That was probably the most difficult step in decoding the program code. So adding program modifications that depend on information such as passwords etc. should now be relatively easy.
