Hey, Plate Tectonics and logic works. There is a sharp double bend between the subduction zone beneath the Solomon Islands and the subduction zone beneath the Santa Cruz Islands. The linking part of the plate boundary strikes ENE. There were two M6.8 quakes and one M6.9 quake. The focal mechanisms for all three were strike-slip, with all three having ENE-striking nodal planes. The ENE nodal plane slip would be left-lateral. The geometry of the subduction and this segment requires left-lateral. Furthermore, the quakes including smaller ones are aligned ENE-WSW.
