This was in the San Jacinto Fault Zone. Focal mechanism is consistent with that fault - right lateral strike slip.
I was 37 miles away, so not much more than a good rumble for me (MMI2). I bet those folks got a good midnight wake up call. This was just north of Hemet in San Jacinto.
