Interesting, I read the link. I was involved in a report on the Santa Monica fault system last fall. I have vague recollection that I had concerns about some of the fault strands they took to be inactive.

That report will become public eventually.

There is also quite a lot of information on the deep faults, some blind, in that report; one is newly mapped (I showed it in a 2006 paper offshore but did not map it).
