The link is a month old, but still probably valid. When I heard about this it was presented that NOAA was not just inaccurate about this winter, they more or less had it exactly backwards:

We may be finally leaving winter behind starting today here on the Rhode Island island: just some snow patches in the shade from the intense but far offshore storm of yesterday.
