Would be a good name for a sports team. Probably already is, but in Japanese. Was a super typhoon late yesterday, but weakening. Forecast by Joint Typhoon Warning Center to be about 80 knots over Tokyo (by interpolating between 2 points).

The radius of 34 knot winds is larger than average (compared to Atlantic), but not huge:

If it goes down the middle of the forecast track, and is a bit stronger or larger than forecast, there could be some problems with storm surge in the big bays (like Tokyo Bay). Japan some years gets a lot of typhoons; I wonder if this one goes as forecast whether it will be much worse than usual that far north? Of course, if it stays 50 nautical miles east of the points, will not do much.
