Apologies Roger ... it's actually " mulled " wine, it's a wine laced with spices and served hot, I've had a few samples of it today, hence the spelling mistake !   First glass is nasty, second glass you forget all your troubles, third glass you forget everything else !

Oh yes I've heard of mulled wine but not that it's alcohol content was high enough to disturb you.
