My first scientific abstract was on reservoir-induced seismicity in the area of this quake, but a little bit west near lake Russell and what was called Clark Hill reservoir until it was renamed for a segregationist. I was Georgia Tech Masters student 1986-1987, and was measuring fracture intensity in an area of little outcrop. The link shows a 1972 M4.5, and 1974 M4.3. There is a reservoir in South Carolina that triggers quakes as reservoir level changes. I don't know how my memory is after almost 30 years, but may be Monticello. For my first talk, it was the last talk of the session, but people started streaming in for my talk. Turns out they had added a talk on the Mexico City deadly quake right after mine, and they were coming for that one.
