All,
part of an email I just sent to the extended family:
We are starting the 7th day of thaw. I had decided a few months ago that the first sign of spring here is the appearance of the green single punchbuggy (Volkswagon bug) at East Ferry that seems to be associate with Spinnakers restaurant/ice cream. But, I walked by this morning and it is not there and Spinnakers still has its "closed for season, see you in 2015" sign on door.
So, instead, the signs of spring are cigarette butts melting out of snow drifts on Narragansett Avenue (really), and thawing dog crap everywhere. There was even a Christmas Tree ornament on the sidewalk at East Ferry.
Our neighborhood is still 80% snow-covered.
