budgets, proposals, science etc - Island Chris - 02-24-2014 Because I answered the survey I just received an email with the link below. It seems it is focused on medical, but applies more widely. I found the article interesting. I tend to complain but not say how much $ the public should pay to fund science: http://chronicle.com/article/Strapped-Scientists-Abandon/144921/?key=SWJzJAE5OHMVbCo1ZTtHZ2oBOnVqOBt3ZnYWOSwlblBVEQ== Chris RE: budgets, proposals, science etc - EQF - 02-26-2014 You will need to tell us what the report stated if you want us to know. When I went to the Web site it said that the report was available only to subscribers. Unfortunately, I didn't finish reading it. Brian RE: budgets, proposals, science etc - Island Chris - 02-27-2014 Sorry EQF and Skywise: I can't remember what it said. Played ice hockey last night and I think my brain does not get enough oxygen towards the end. I'm one of the worst players, but last night I not only got outplayed, but at times out classed: I just could not keep up. Twice a week hockey and sitting in front of computer all the rest f time is just not going to make it. When winter ends (in May?) I'll have to do some tennis and bike riding. Actually, I lived in Rhode Island in the mid 1970s and rode my Motorcycle 20 km to my pre-college work in the office of a shipyard, and then it snowed all day...about May 9. Massachusetts got a foot, the R.I. coast got a couple of inches. I have a mountain bike, but where I'm at it's TOO mountainous. Going down hill is easy enough. Going up, I can only do so much, I end up walking the bike. I wish my motorcycle was running. Brian |
