Bartlett Creek Fault Prediction - Steve S in SF - 08-10-2016 http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/nc72672610#executive I had a prediction earlier in the year in this area. It has expired I know- will have to take closer look at original prediction. And, there is probably potential for a stronger earthquake on the Bartlett Creek Fault Zone. Still thinking will be a stronger earthquake- thinking of how to phrase prediction... RE: Bartlett Creek Fault Prediction - Island Chris - 08-10-2016 Hi Steve, As you know, the quake was strike-slip. I don't know anything about the faults in this part of California. If you know anything about the geology, post it. There does not seem to be the summary of the geology of the quake at USGS yet. The web site has changed quite a lot so maybe I missed it, but I think they will do something when they get to work. Will post later with the estimate on recurrence of major earthquakes causing slip on fault(think it's somewhere around 500 to 1,000 years.) and don't think there has been a 5.0 plus earthquake on fault in recorded history(past 175-200 years). |
