Bartlett Creek Fault Prediction - Steve S in SF - 08-10-2016

I had a prediction earlier in the year in this area. It has expired I know- will have to take closer look at original prediction. And, there is probably potential for a stronger earthquake on the Bartlett Creek Fault Zone.

Found original prediction- longer ago than I remember- was end of April 2015 not 2016. Still thinking will be a stronger earthquake- thinking of how to phrase prediction...

Hi Steve,
As you know, the quake was strike-slip. I don't know anything about the faults in this part of California. If you know anything about the geology, post it. There does not seem to be the summary of the geology of the quake at USGS yet. The web site has changed quite a lot so maybe I missed it, but I think they will do something when they get to work.

No there is some recent (Holocenne) volcanism in area. Will post later with the estimate on recurrence of major earthquakes causing slip on fault(think it's somewhere around 500 to 1,000 years.) and don't think there has been a 5.0 plus earthquake on fault in recorded history(past 175-200 years).
