Puerto Rico - Virgin Islands - Island Chris - 08-05-2015
We have brought this up over the last 5 years or decade. There are a ton of earthquakes around, mostly north of, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. Swarms have not lead to anything much in that tie. But, this week seems like even more than normal and they are scattered all over. I've always wanted to know whether this is the only (oblique) subduction zone with this behavior, but only the USA subduction zones show all M2.5 and higher: others only show 4.5 and higher, on the USGS-NEIC maps.

Better data might be had from local geologic agencies, but it would take some digging to find it. Then again, there's IRIS. I've not taken the time to really dig into that storehouse of data.

I sometimes use "Earthquaketrack.com", it primarily posts quakes of M3.0 + , but gives you the option of selecting M1.5 or greater. I typed Puerto Rico in the search box and surfed through at least 60 quakes in that region over the last 5 months. Not sure how reliable or how far back the data goes, but might be worth checking out.
